Tax Return Services in Jarrow
Completing your tax return can be time-consuming, especially when you are unsure what needs to be declared or which information HMRC requires. Findlay Todd provides professional tax return support to make the process clear, accurate and straightforward.
We work with individuals, sole traders, landlords and business owners, helping you prepare and submit your tax return correctly, meet important deadlines and understand your tax position without unnecessary jargon.
Every year HMRC expects a tax return. If you’re a sole trader or partner, that’s a Self Assessment return (and partnerships file a partnership return too). If you run a limited company, you must submit a Corporation Tax (CT600) return, and company directors may also need a Self Assessment return.
Tax doesn’t have to be stressful. Whether you’re a sole trader, landlord, director, partner, or have multiple income streams, we’ll prepare and file your return correctly and on time. We make sure allowable expenses and reliefs are claimed, explain everything, and keep you ahead of HMRC deadlines, so there are no surprises.
Our experienced team of Tax Return accountants here at Findlay Todd can complete this for you so you have the peace of mind that it will be completed correctly, and on time.
We begin with a quick fact-find to map your income sources (employment, self-employment, rentals, dividends, interest, capital gains and anything overseas). Next, we tidy the records, confirm what’s deductible, and calculate your liability, factoring in allowances, losses, and payments on account. Once you’re happy, we file electronically to HMRC, provide a clear tax summary with payment dates, and set reminders so next year is smoother. If you want ongoing help, we’ll also set you up with simple digital record-keeping (usually Xero) so everything stays organised throughout the year.
We don’t just work with numbers, we work with people. That’s why our clients trust us year after year. We build lasting relationships through consistent, high-quality support.

So much so that even when I changed employers I brought them in. They helped me navigate a change in systems from an old in-house version to Sage 200 and worked with me to make it as accurate as possible. Big thanks especially to Rachel and to Dan, their assistance and advice was very much appreciated.Posted on Google Jonjo Simm22. Directors often need to complete Self Assessment, especially if they receive dividends, have untaxed income, or HMRC issues a notice to file. We’ll confirm your position and handle the filing.
If your tax due is over £1,000 and not mostly collected through PAYE, HMRC usually asks for two advance payments towards next year (due 31 January and 31 July). We’ll calculate these and make sure you’re not overpaying, adjustments are made automatically at the next return.
P60s/P45s, self-employment income/expenses, rental statements, bank interest/dividends, pension info, student loan details, and any buy/sell documents for assets. We’ll send a simple checklist.
Typical allowable costs include letting agent fees, repairs and maintenance (not capital improvements), insurance, service charges, and mortgage interest relief at the basic rate. We’ll review your records to claim correctly and keep evidence tidy.
HMRC can charge penalties for late filing and late payment, plus interest. Engaging early avoids penalties; if you’re already late, we’ll file fast and help manage any HMRC correspondence.
